New Apex Strata Wheels with Dual Durometer

Teak Tuning just released the first edition of the new Apex Strata Wheels! These wheels feature two different durometers and colors combined into one wheel.

This latest addition to the Apex Wheel series features a 77D fluorescent pink & green core and a 61D outer tread in Pitch Black. The combination of dual durometers in one wheel increases shock absorption and smoothness when riding. 

These wheels are currently available in the New Street Shape. This shape and size is a “standard” wheel size for fingerboarding. Each wheel has a 7.7mm diameter and is 4.9mm wide. 

Just like all Apex Wheels, these wheels have a bearing pocket design that locks the bearing into the wheel. Each wheel contains premium bearings with an ABEC-9 rating. These bearings are our highest quality fingerboard wheel bearings. They are extremely smooth and completely silent. These are sturdy bearings that will allow extreme movement and control. However, due to them being greased and completely shielded, they do not have the free spin our "Ultra Spin" Edition bearings do. In actual use, they are extremely responsive and have a very free roll.

How do the Strata Wheels differ from the other New Street Apex Wheels?

While all New Street shape wheels have the same dimensions and shape, the Strata wheels feature a dual durometer. This gives them a different feeling while riding. All other Apex Wheels have a single durometer. 

Can I take these wheels apart?

No, the inner and outer parts of the wheel are bonded together to maximize durability and strength. Do not attempt to take these wheels apart. If you’d like a smaller wheel, try out our mini Shorty Shape Apex Wheels! 

Do these wheels squeak?

Yes! Many fingerboarders love the “squeak” sound that certain wheel materials make when you do a sharp turn or a powerslide.
