Details
The Colorway
Sundaze Swirls is a two color pour, not a speckle. Bright royal blue dominates and pale lemon yellow feathers through it in soft cloud like bands, so the pattern looks flowing rather than scattered. The blend is done by hand, which means no two wheels in the set carry the same pattern and no two sets look alike. Some faces come out mostly blue with a few yellow drifts, others show broad yellow clouds across the whole face.
What is ATP
ATP is All Terrain Polymer, a blend we run at 65D for the Digital Swirls limited series. It sits between our soft urethane and hard wheels: enough grip to ride anything on the desk, enough speed to slide, and it casts the sharpest swirl patterns of any compound in the range.
Bearings and the Bearing Pocket
ABEC-9 Stealth bearings are our premium shielded and greased bearings: smooth, completely silent, and locked in by the Bearing Pocket. They don't free spin the way Ultraspin bearings do; in actual riding they're extremely responsive with a very free roll. The Bearing Pocket is a custom lock cast into the wheel that stops the bearing backing out unless you use a bearing press, so you can run the locknut fully tight without binding the roll.
Blend and Cast
ATP wheels are cast in the USA to our All Terrain Polymer spec, and we press the bearings and pack every set in our Rochester, NY shop.
Care
- Built for rough ground: driveway concrete, asphalt, wood grain, park transition.
- Every wheel is poured on its own, so the four in your set won't match each other or the photo exactly.
- Don't soak the bearings. Water and cleaner strip the lubricant.
Teak Guarantee
All Apex wheels are backed by the Teak Guarantee, which covers items that arrive damaged, defective, or that break within 90 days of delivery: we replace or refund. Reach out with a photo of the issue. Full guarantee details.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is ATP?
ATP is All Terrain Polymer, a blend we run at 65D for the Digital Swirls limited series. It sits between our soft urethane and hard wheels: enough grip to ride anything on the desk, enough speed to slide, and it casts the sharpest swirl patterns of any compound in the range.
What is the D scale? How does it compare to skateboard wheel hardness?
We measure our compounds on the Shore D scale, which suits small cast wheels better than the skateboard A scale. As a reference point, our softest 61D rides like a 101A skateboard wheel; higher D numbers are harder and faster.
Why don't my wheels match the photo exactly?
Because they can't. Each set is poured by hand, and the pattern lands differently on every wheel, so your four wheels won't match each other or the photo exactly. That's the point of a hand poured colorway: no one else has your set.
Do these fit all fingerboard trucks?
Yes. Apex wheels mount on standard fingerboard axles with no modification and fit all major trucks, including 29mm through 36mm and wider setups.
What comes in a set?
Four wheels with bearings already pressed in, a capped storage tube, and a Teak Tuning sticker. Deck and trucks aren't included.
Are ATP wheels made in the USA?
Yes. ATP wheels are cast in the USA to our All Terrain Polymer spec, and every set is pressed, tubed, and packed in our Rochester, NY shop.
What does the Teak Guarantee cover?
Replace or refund within 90 days of delivery for anything that arrives damaged or defective, or breaks in that window. Contact Teak Tuning with a photo, and see the full policy on our Teak Guarantee page.
