What If My Wheel Is Not Spinning?

If a wheel on your fingerboard won’t spin, it’s usually an easy fix. Here are a few common problems that can cause your wheels to stop spinning (and how to fix them) :

Over-tightened Lock Nuts

Lock nuts are what keep your wheel on the truck axle, but if a lock nut is too tight, it will prevent the wheel from being able to spin. If your wheel is not spinning, loosen the lock nuts a little. In order to freely spin on the axle, the wheel cannot be too tight.

Debris Inside The Wheel

Before placing the wheel onto the truck, remove any dirt or residue from the axle. If you wheels are not spinning because the bearings have dirt inside them, remove the wheel and gently blow of the bearing to remove loose dirt or debris.

Bent or Damaged Axle

If your axle is damaged or bent, this can prevent the wheel from spinning properly. If you are not able to carefully bend it back into a straight position, you may need to use a new truck.
