Questions
Which obstacle should I start with?
Low obstacles like a curb, bench or ledge are the easiest place to learn slides and grinds before moving to rails and taller pieces. A pair of kickers turns any desk into a park.
Do fingerboard ramps fit any fingerboard?
Yes. Obstacles are open riding surfaces scaled for standard fingerboards, so deck width doesn't matter: 29mm, 32mm, 34mm and 36mm boards all ride the same ramps and rails.
What is Monument Crete made of?
A cast polymer gypsum composite reinforced with glass fiber, solid all the way through. It looks and rides like polished concrete, and V2 adds more glass fiber for tougher edges.
How do fingerboard obstacles wear over time?
Bare birch scuffs and burnishes darker where you ride it, acrylic scuffs in and slides faster, and stainless steel polishes where you grind. All of it is normal wear and the obstacle rides on.
How do I stop a fingerboard ramp from sliding on my desk?
Put a little non-slip foam tape or a mat under the base. Monument Crete pieces ship with a sheet of non-slip foam tape, and the heavier pieces stay planted on their own.
